One of the highlights of the Summer Games Opening was Rowan Atkinson’s musical contribution to the London Symphony Orchestra’s playing of Chariots of Fire by Vangelis… and of course Mr. Bean’s Walter Mitty day-dream of participating in the iconic opening scene of the film.
I hope you saw it during the opening broadcast. The copyright vigilantes have kept it off YouTube, and I am even having difficulty keeping the slide show of stills current on my post about the opening… History 101. But here is that opening scene without competitor Bean.
To-day swimming is a featured event. Mr Bean did three famous skits about swimming… they are all favourites. Do not attempt to eat or drink while watching them. The last leaves me coughing and gagging with laughter and tears streaming down my face… but then, I never even learned to swim!
